Historical Greenough HamletGreenough Hamlet is an impressive collection of buildings, the likes of which are not found anywhere else in Australia, including schoolhouses, a courthouse and police station, a cottage, churches, a presbytery and a convent. Open 9.00am to 5.00pm daily during winter months. 9.00am to 4.00pm daily during Summer months. HMAS Sydney MemorialHMAS Sydney Memorial is a monument to one of the greatest maritime tragedies. On the 19 th of November 1941, just of the coast of Western Australia the RAN Cruiser HMAS Sydney 11 engaged a German armed raider with the loss of both ships. The ship was sunk, and along with it 645 crew members. Access via walking paths and parking available on Gummer Avenue, the views are spectacular and well worth the walk. Picturesque Chapman Valley WineriesThe beautiful Chapman Valley winery is located only 20 minutes from Geraldton. Call in for lunch, enjoy a meal from the restaurant. Sample the wines, discover the fabulous style that has been developed to produce these the Chapman Valley range include reds and whites. Fisherman's WharfGeraldton could easily be considered the Lobster Capital of the World! Take in the free live lobster factory on Mondays to Fridays 9-30am and 10.30pm with tours at 9.30am on Saturdays. The lobster season is from November until the end of June. The Point Moore LighthouseGeraldton was originally a port and lighthouse at Point Moore was built in 1878 and is the only all–steel lighthouse in Western Australia. It stands 34 metres high and can be seen 26 km out to sea. Geraldton Regional Art GalleryGeraldton has a vibrant visual arts culture, the gallery has displays of art and crafts works from leading state, national and international exhibitions.
